Lions and Poets first formed in 2010. Through its diverse lineup of musicians, Lions and Poets brings subtle hints of punk, jazz, blues, and southern rock elements together to form its unique sound. The band’s original music and lyrics draw heavily on singer Tom Robles’ life experiences. The music strikes a careful balance of originality and accessibility to ensure an energetic live experience for fans.

Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Tom Robles is the founding member of Lions and Poets. A native of West Covina, he relocated to Los Angeles in 2003. Tom works as a law office clerk by day and is an avid sports and wine enthusiast. He started playing music with local LA bands such as The Churchills and Rubber Soul before taking a brief hiatus from music. In the Spring of 2010, Tom formed Lions and Poets to record an album of original material, which led to the release of the band’s debut album, On The Vine. The success of On The Vine and its successor, Twenty Days of Utter Indulgence, reinvigorated his will to play live music. In addition to his work on vocals and guitar, Tom is also the band’s chief songwriter. He currently resides in West Covina.

Bassist Steve Blasini, a transplant from New York City, brings years of bass playing and a lifetime of music to the band. Along with his wife of 23 years, BenniQue, he owns and operates a Visual Effects Studio where they create digital imagery for film and television. Film and music have been Steve's greatest passions and he is very lucky to have established himself in both. His greatest musical inspirations are YES, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and all their progressive rock brethren. He performs live shows regularly at the Viper Room on the Sunset Strip where he has established himself as a reliable contributor to the venue. He believes that with the talent of his band mates and the great original material, the sky's the limit.

John Thomas, a native of Los Angeles is Lions and Poets' Lead Guitarist. He joined the band in June of 2019. The Pasadena resident brings 30 years of playing experience and is a veteran of the LA music scene. In addition to his musical talents, John also is an accomplished Sound Editor who currently works on Major motion pictures at Warner Brothers Entertainment in Burbank, CA.

Drummer Brian Wells is the newest member of Lions and Poets.  Joining in October of 2021, Brian supplies a ton of experience and a steady backbeat.  A Southern California native, he brings 27 years of drumming, touring and recording experience: having played and toured in countries like Germany, Turkey, Japan and Hong Kong.  Before joining Lions, Brian played and toured with such acts as The Black Tongued Bells, Rex Holmes and the Claremont Voodoo Society.  He currently resides in The San Gabriel Valley.
